"For me, "Journey to Higher Self" is a painting that symbolizes inner transformation and freedom in my life. Through the years I've always practiced hard work and determination to reach my goals (which I think is important) but I was always more focused on the destination rather than the journey to get there. As a result of this discord with the desires of my inner being, I would always feel impatient and anxious to get to the end of my journey. In reality I was letting life pass me by and I wasn't savoring the present moment which is something I've always struggled with. Through the past couple of years I've been releasing resistance in my life, clearing blocks, developing healthier habits, and practicing love and gratitude for all that I have.
In the foreground of the painting with the lantern and snow, I envision this being my "old self" that I am leaving behind as I travel onto the windy cobblestone path that leads into the sunset where a new path of enlightenment and consciousness awaits me. Life is more magical now than ever and this painting reminds me that our journey's are far reaching and never ending, so we might as well enjoy the present moment where our journeys are actually taking place."
